(CLEVELAND, OH – 5/3/2022) – The Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) provided sweet treats and small Islamic Eid gifts to the more than 180 fasting Muslim inmates at the Cuyahoga County Jail to celebrate the Feast of Fast Breaking (Eid Al-Fitr) at the end of Ramadan.

CAIR-Ohio was able to provide these treats and Islamic gifts through the generous donations of the supporters of this year’s EPIC Eid LaunchGood campaign. Thanks to the donors, we were able to exceed our goal. With the funds raised, CAIR-Ohio provided baklava, an assortment of candy and chocolate, and an assortment of chips in the sweet treat boxes. CAIR-Ohio also provided a pocket-size copy of More than 1000 Sunan for Every Day & Night, a bookmark, and information on Eid Al-Fitr to each fasting Muslim inmate.

The Cuyahoga County Jail administration and chaplaincy program worked with CAIR-Ohio to make sure the fasting Muslim inmates received an Eid Al-Fitr celebration.

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
